BARYTA MURIATICA (Barium Chloride)

Baryta Muriatica is a homeopathic remedy that is particularly useful for treating organic lesions in the elderly, especially those who exhibit physical and mental dwarfism. It has a strong effect on the heart, arteries, parotid glands, pancreas, muscles, joints, and rectum. Patients who benefit from Baryta Muriatica often experience a sensation of cold and may be prone to irritability.

This remedy is effective for headaches that occur without acute crises in elderly individuals, characterized by a sense of heaviness rather than pain, vertigo (often due to cerebral anaemia), and ear noises. It is helpful for conditions associated with increased pulse tension and arteriosclerosis, where high systolic pressure and relatively low diastolic pressure are present. In cases of nymphomania, satyriasis (increased sexual desire), and convulsions, Baryta Muriatica has proven its importance. It is also indicated for cases of paresis (muscle weakness) that can follow influenza or diphtheria, and patients may experience a loss of voluntary muscle power. In children, Baryta Muriatica is often indicated when they have an open mouth and speak through their nose.

This remedy is effective for glandular conditions such as mumps, as well as conditions affecting the middle ear, including inflammation after blowing the nose. It can also help with tinnitus, characterized by whizzing and buzzing sounds in the ear, and earaches. Symptoms are relieved by small quantities of cold water. Mind:

• Mental dullness and confusion.

Generalities:

• Similar to Baryta Carbonica but with more pronounced cramps and convulsions.
• Swelling and induration of glands, like knotted cords.
• Chronic catarrh (inflammation) of the ear, nose, and respiratory organs.
• Cramps and convulsions, including epileptic seizures.
• Symptoms tend to worsen in the morning.
• Electric shock-like sensations in the body.

Head:

• Tinea capitis (fungal scalp infection).

Face:

• Inflammation of submaxillary glands with hard swellings.

Ears:
